I am excited to perform in Dehradun on 9th December : Ankit Tiwari

Ankit Tiwari, the popular playback singer and music director known for his chartbusters like Aashiqui 2, Sun Raha hai na Galiyan and immensely popular Galiyan is in Dehradun for his first Live in concert in Dehradun. Ankit, who started his singing career from Saheb, Biwi aur Gangster has come a long way and is now a winner of several awards. He is in Dehradun for his first Live in concert on 9th December. In a candid interview he talks about himself, his love for music and his journey so far.


Q: How do you feel to be in Dehradun for your concert?

Ans: I was in Dehraun recently but that was for promotion for my single track Tum Hardafa Ho. I am really excited that I am here to sing for Dehradun audience. I am hoping to make people single along and enjoy the evening at Bannu School.

Q:How did you start your career?

Ans: I started my journey in Bollywood at the age of eighteen with films like Do Dooni Chaar and Saheb Biwi aur Gangster. In 2013, I got recognition with my song ‘Sun Raha hai na’.

Q: Which songs you would consider your milestones?

Ans:I think people know me because of my songs 'Galliyaan' and 'Sunn raha hai na tu'

Q: : How did you get inclined towards music?

Ans: My mom used to sing a jagrans while my dad was a part of a troupe which used to perform at Mata Ki Chowkis and I would accompany them as a child. I got my basic training in Dholak and table from my grandfather NK Tiwari. There was music all around me. I at a very young age got inclined towards music. My parents enrolled me into professional training at five. My family supported me and here I am.

Q: What are your upcoming projects?

Ans:As far as Bollywood is concerned, I am a part of two movies which are Ayyari and Kashi. Besides this I am also working on my own tracks which will be released in December next year.

An advice for budding musicians

I believe in a simple funda which is prepare your demos, keep composing and recording.
